Dr Smrithy Vijayan

Plant ecologist and educator currently serving as lecturer at Mar Athanasius College, Kothamangalam, Kerala. Research interests: vegetation ecology, plant functional types, desiccation-tolerant plants, plant communities of stressful habitats, and conservation biology. Focused on rock outcrop ecosystems, including inselbergs and cliffs. Experience includes field-based ecological studies across the Western Ghats and other rocky landscapes in India, along with teaching, student mentoring, and science communication through writing and public engagement initiatives.
